AMERSON LAKE & PALMER - BRAIN SALAD SURGERY

48 - AMERSON LAKE & PALMER, kurz ELP, wurde 1970 von den Musikern KEITH EMERSON, GEORG LAKE und CARL PALMER gegründet. Sie galt als Supergruppe des Progessive Rock und widmete sich bei ihrer Musik und auf Tourneen gerne der Gigantomanie.
Ich spiele diese LP da ich vor zwei Wochen die LP SWITCHED-ON BACH von WALTER CARLOS gespielt habe, die 1986 veröffentlich wurde und MOOG Synteheizer zu ihrem Erfolg verholfen haben. Die LP BRAIN SALAD SURGERY erschien 1973 und somit lagen fünf Jahre Syntehesizer Entwicklung dazwischen. Von den eher simplen Klängen von SWITCHED-ON BACH kann man die Weiterentwicklung deutlich hören.
KEITH EMERSON spielt auf KAREN EVIL den Prototypen des polymorphen MOOG "APOLLO" Synthesizer der später als POLY MOOG erschien. Damit konnten mehrere Töne gleichzeitig erzeugt werden.
Auf dem Lied TOCCATO, eine Bearbeitung von GINESTERA'S 1. PIANO CONCERTO, 4. SATZ sind die Synthesizer Klänge nicht von Keith Emerson sondern von CARL PALMER's neuem Drum Computer.
