Die Band Tokyo ist eine Band aus dem Bereich Rock- und Progressive Rock, die 1979 in Frankfurt gegründet wurde und bis heute Bestand hat.
Die Band-Mitglieder (fast alles Studiomusiker) sind Robby Musenbichler (Vocals, Guitar), Ken Taylor (Vocals, Bass), Fritz Matzka (Drums), Lothar Krell (Keyboards) und Klaus Luley (Vocals, Guitar). 
Im Jahr 1981 - vor genau 40 Jahren - erschien das erste Album der Band, das wie die Band einfach "Tokyo" hieß und auf dem der sicher bekannteste Titel der Band mit genau dem gleichen Namen enthalten ist.
Mit dem Aufkommen der Neuen Deutschen Welle fiel die Präsens in den Folgejahren auf überwiegend andere Musik. Die Folgealben "Fasten Seat Belts" (1982) und "San" (1983) fanden deshalb etwas weniger Beachtung.
Die einzelnen Bandmitglieder waren als Studiomusiker in der NDW-Zeit aber auch in andern Projekten aktiv. Das bisher letzte Album "One World" erschien im Jahr 2014.
Wir spielen in AAS heute zum Jubiläum das Debütalbum der Band. Die CD-Version ist gegenüber der ursprünglichen Vinyl-Veröffentlichung umd zahlreiche Titel erweitert. Wir spielen das Album soweit es die Zeit erlaubt (13 von 16 Titeln).
