AAS Nr. 415, Goo Goo Dolls - Dizzy Up The Girl

In AAS spielen wir heute Rockmusik aus den USA von den Goo Goo Dolls. Die Band wurde vor genau 40 Jahren, im Jahr 1986 in Buffalo, New York/USA gegründet und ist bis heute aktiv. Sie wird dem Alternativ Rock-Bereich zugerechnet. Gründungsmitglieder waren John Rzeznik (Gitarre, Gesang, Songwriter), Robby Takac (Bass, Gesang) und George Tutuska (Schlagzeug) gegründet. Schlagzeuger George Tutuska verließ 1995 die Band. Er wurde von Mike Malinin ersetzt, der seinerseits die Band 2014 verließ. Die Goo Goo Dolls sind heute somit ein Duo. Die musikalischen Anfänge waren noch etwas Punk-lastig. Über die Jahre entwickelte sich die Musik zum Rock bzw. Pop Rock weiter. Aktuell arbeitet die Band am ihrem 13. Studialbum. In AAS spielen wir das 6. Studialbum der Band "Dizzy Up The Girl" aus dem Jahr 1998. Damit gelang der Band der Durchbruch. Das Album erreichte in den USA, in UK aber auch in Deutschland die Album-Charts. Der Titel "Iris" aus dem Album zählt zu den meistgespielten Songs der amerikanischen Radiogeschichte. Die Musik wird charakterisiert von eingängigen Gitarrenmelodien, einer Mischung aus Rock und Pop, von emotionalen Texten, der markante Stimme von John Rzeznik und radiotauglichen Arrangements. Wir füllen die Stunde mit 3 Titeln aus anderen Alben der Band.
