Liebhaber von Underground Dance Music!

Wann ist irgendwann? Bei Progdorf ist das in der Nacht von Freitag auf Samstag – und zwar genau ab Mitternacht. Dann präsentieren wir Titel, die wir die letzten Monate beiseite gelegt hatten - für „irgendwann“. Sei es, weil unsere Sendezeit dafür nicht reichen, oder der Sound nicht in den Flow des Mixes passen wollte. Das wird heute geändert. Die Vielfalt wird passend gemacht!

Dabei reicht die musikalische Bandbreite von A wie Ambient - bis A wie Acid. Elektro Pop ist ebenso vertreten, wie Halluzinatives. Gesang und Melodie sind ein fester Bestandteil. Und wie letztes Mal angekündigt, knöpfen wir uns Titel von Oliver Koletzkis neuem Album vor.

Von unseren 120 Minuten Sendezeit wird dieses Downtempo Wühltischerlebnis die erste Dreiviertelstunde belegen. Danach satteln wir dann um. Erhöhen das Tempo und machen unserem Namen dann wieder alle Ehre und bringen originäres aus der Welt der Untergrundtanzmusik.

Insgesamt haben wir 24 Titel ausgewählt, die seit April auf der Welt sind, bzw. sich noch im Zulauf befinden. Mit dabei sind unter anderem (A bis Z: Artist – Titel – Label [Katalog] – Veröffentlichungsdatum):

• Airwave - You Are Loved (Original Mix) - Bonzai Progressive [BP10362021] – out 18.06.21: “.. Deep, driving proggy vibes, laced with delicate melancholy and contrasting euphoric elements.” ### Progdorf meint: Eine sehr hübsche EP, von der wir bislang leider nur den Titeltrack „Good Old Pal Anxiety“ unterbekommen haben. Der Rest war für andermal vorgemerkt. Jetzt ist andermal und wir spielen endlich den Hidden Champion!
• Alex Medina feat. Elna - Neruda's Breath (Breathless Beat) - Stil vor Talent [SVT299] – out 13.08.21: “Tirelessly toying and fiddling with electronic matter to better connect with his inner demon for music … ” ###Progdorf meint: Wir haben das Accapella in eine Djungle-Nummer von Oliver Koletzki gemixt. Paßt gut. Und bleibt so in der Familie. Ansonsten ist die EP für die Tonne. Da hilft auch Freitag der 13. als Veröffentlichungsdatum nix.
• Allies For Everyone - Hi Low (Mononoid Remix) – ICONYC [NYC013X] – out 21.05.21: “From a warm, meaty low end to icy atmospherics and an effects storyboard to get lost in, there is certainly a lot to love. The main break being the high point, with the mood shifting from emotive to ominous with an effortless ease. It's something you rarely see and they once again pulled it off beautifully here.” ###Progdorf meint: von Hi Low gibt es drei Versionen. Diese Remix-Fassung schmorte leider fast drei Monate auf unserer Festplatte, bis es endlich so weit war. Und jetzt ist irgendwann …
• Brigado Crew feat. Jessica Zese – Calamity - Stil vor Talent [SVT290] – out: 07.05.21: “The ephemerally haunted vocals of Jessica Zese soar over post-disco grooves in the opening track Calamity. The softly-focused synths of this cut are a balm to the propulsive, industrial heartbeat of the album.” ###Progdorf meint: Diesen Titel hatten wir beiseite gelegt - auch weil wir nicht 100% überzeugt waren. (Was übrigens auch für das gesamte Album gilt.) Andererseits: Diese 3 Minuten 31 sind jetzt auch keine Papstvisite. Erledigt. Nächster bitte!
• Crocy - Planespotters Have Feelings Too (Original Mix) - Bonzai Progressive [BP10452021] – out 06.08.2021: “… taking a more subdued, slow burning effect on the groove, which builds to a superb peak time cut. Gritty bass stabs are at its core, while sprinkles of delicate melodies caress the edges. A punchy beat and shuffling percussion combo unleashes smooth rhythms, taking this one straight to the floors.” ###Progdorf meint: Solide getroffen! Und wie diese Freaks Gefühle haben! Das gilt natürlich auch für Trainspotter ... Ist ja so ähnlich, nur eben mit mehr schottischem Klo.
• Douglas Greed - Wie Man Unsterbliche Tiere Züchtet (Michael Mayer Remix) - 3000Grad Records [3000 Grad Special 013] – out 28.05.21: „Michael Mayer: When I first heard this song on Dougie‘s album … all I could think was: Damn, I would love to receive a phone call like the one in this track. Someone to talk me out of my fear and insecurity. How important it is to have someone close who‘s got your back in times when you falter. While working on the remix I envisioned dancefloors to be just open again and us collectively shaking the fear out of our limbs. May this moment be upon us soon.“ ###Progdorf meint: Anrufbeantworter werden neuerdings ja unterbewertet. Dabei steckt da so viel Gänsehaut drin. Und Zeitlosigkeit. Wir erinnern nur an Fishmob / DJ Kotze, die Vorreiter des musikalischen ABs.
• Dumming Dum - Elettrica (Extended Mix) - Kittball Records [KITT219] – out 15.07.21: “Wham! Dumming Dum shoots you back into the 80s with a synth-driven disco dancer "Elettrica".” ###Progdorf meint: Ja, zurück in die 80er. Damals gab es aber schon Synthesizer, die „gestimmt“ waren und den Ton trafen …Aber abgesehen von dieser Bagatelle: What a Flashback!
• Elninodiablo - Dorothea's Rainbow (Prins Thomas Remix) – El Nino Diablo Music [ENDM0004] – out 21.05.21: “… Channeling telluric energies and dubby, kosmische-laced electronics through a multi-faceted ride that keeps on shifting angles and tempi, Full Pupp head honcho Prins Thomas kicks it off on the smoothest note possible. Built as a full-fledged 12-minute long mini-odyssey, the track winds out a luscious mix of Afro-funk indebted drums, acid-dyed bass and further cross-pollinated cosmic disco dynamics. Most of the drum and bass parts were played live.”  ###Progdorf meint: Als uns das erste Mal was von Elniodiablo übermittelt worden ist, waren wir hin und her gerissen: Zwischen Shit und Yeah. Als dann die Remixe veröffentlicht wurden, dachten wir uns: WHAAAT …Wer macht dazu noch eine Remix-Session? Musikalisch ist das ansprechend. Besonders die 12 Minuten, wenn man Grünzeug konsumiert hat. Dann dürfte es auch keine Rolle spielen, daß der Drummer nicht ganz „tight“ ist.
• Felipe Novaes - Unchained (Analog Jungs Remix) – Univack [UV091] – out 3.9.21: “…  His pieces are difficult to put in a unique genre. Between Melodic Techno and Progressive House, with minimalistic beats, hypnotic arpeggios, strong synths and complex sequences. No doubt here we have an important artist from the new brazilian electronic school. The argentinians Analog Jungs (Mango Alley, MNL, Or Two Strangers) have made a more progressive version … with this Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte show why they are one of the most relevant artists in the current progressive House scene.” ###Progdorf meint: Die gesamte EP finden wir mittlerweile sehr gelungen. Beim ersten Durchhören waren wir nicht so angetan, aber Dinge können sich ja ändern!
• Julian Stetter feat. Aydo Abay - Sky Without Colours – PNN [nn]– out 28.07.21: “… Julian Stetter simply turns the inside out, but he does this without pathos, without kitsch. He gently shifts the lines between club and pop, between song and track, - like a painter he blurs the boundaries (and his traces) and lets the transitions slowly blur. Aydo Abay is Julian's voice, moving through him and through the album, expressing, formulating, giving voice to all that the producer himself lacks the words for.” ###Progdorf meint: Dies ist ein Vorgeschmack auf das gleichnamige Album, welches Mitte September erscheinen wird. Macht Lust auf mehr, wenn man Elektro-Pop mag. Und wir mögen´s.
• Kevin Vega - Daedalus (Original Mix) - Bonzai Progressive [BP10372021] – out 25.06.21: “Daedalus rounds up the EP, keeping the Greek winged-myth concept alive with a strong prog mover. Deep undulating basses ramp up the energy as gentle rhythmic patterns layer up. Mystical pads and subtle melodies complete the construction, making this an absolute must have.” .” ###Progdorf meint: Der Versuch, die Antike zu hypnotisieren ist voll aufgegangen. Den beiden anderen Titeln der EP gelingt das ebenso.
• Marwan Jaafreh - The Sound That Drives Us (ZAHNA remix) - Bonzai Progressive [BP10462021] – out 06.08.21: “…His sound is beautifully refined and he is able to move effortlessly between several genres, while retaining his unique style. … On the remix here, the track begins with a very nice chunky beat with flurries of percussion elements layering up. Infectious arpeggios join in as the chugging bassline takes control. Mystical melodics combine, adding intrigue, and making this a definite must have.” ### Progdorf meint: Mit der Original Version sind auch drei Remixe erschienen. Wir haben uns für den ZAHNA Remix entschieden, obwohl der Doriaan Remix ebenfalls überzeugt. Beide sind nämlich besser als das Original.
• Michael & Levan, Stiven Rivic, Rick Pier O'Neil - Typhoon (Original Mix) – Univack [UV092] – out 17.09.21: “No doubts, the great team formed by the georgian brothers Michael & Levan and the english artist Stiven Rivic, has been one of the most relevant symbiosis in the progressive house music scene in the last decade. This time, this trio has joined forces to the well known veteran and awesome artist Rick Pier O'Neil to make this Typhoon EP ….” ###Progdorf meint: Große Namen =  Fette Beats. Ist so!
• Mood Gorning - Sand Of Pyla (Original Mix) – Suprematic [SP093] – out 08.04.21:”---" ### Progdorf meint: Eine sehr hübsche B-Seite zur wundervollen A-Seite (Daemon Waltz). Beide Titel können wir uneingeschränkt empfehlen, obwohl sie so vergleichbar sind, wie Äpfel und Birnen.
• Oliver Koltzki – Made of Wood - Stil Vor Talent [SVT296] – out 16.07.21: “… Initially written in Tulum, Mexico, during the pre-pandemic winter of 2019, 'Made of Wood' is physically entwined with the primeval forests that continue to inspire its maker: In the subsequent year it took to complete the album in Berlin, Oliver, aided by numerous live musicians and vocalists, brought his sketches to life with a focus on wooden instruments like djembes, marimbas, santoors or duduks, sculpting a natural sound that's warm in timbre, rich in groove and literally made of wood.” ###Progdorf meint: Dieses Mal wenden wir uns einigen Downtempo Stücken zu, die das Album verzieren: 4, 6, 11, 12. Läßt man „A Starseed´s Journey“ (#11) mal außen vor – eine Meditationsfläche für und mit Pilze -, kann Frieden, Trost und Hoffnung in den anderen finden. Wundervoll.
• Principleasure - Of Love & Loss EP – Principleasure [PPLEASURE008] – out 02.08.21: “---” ##Progdorf meint: Von der 4 Track EP spielen wir drei Titel. Zum Auftakt der Show bringen wir die deep Grooves & Beats von “Lexicon” und im Mittelteil vermischen wir den Original Mix mit der Instrumental Version von „Of Love & Loss“. Beide Elektro-Pop Nummern haben ja nur eine Spieldauer von jeweils 2.45. Deutlich zu kurz, wie wir finden.
• Pulse - Feeling High (Original Mix) - Bonzai Progressive [BP10482021] – out 13.8.21: “Feeling High opens with a cool spoken word before layers of infectious acid lines take over. Punchy beats and shuffling percussions set the rhythm loose as a deep, probing bassline dominates the low end. Hypnotic synths captivate as the 303 remains constant. Superb effort that will not disappoint.” ###Progdorf meint: Diese “cool spoken” Texte sind der Auftakt für die hypnotische Acid-Nummer, die sich dann Bahn bricht. Klassisch. Und Folgerichtig, wenn man dem Text folgt. Muß aber nicht. Acid ist ja kein Selbstzweck. So ähnlich wie Macht. Nur eben musikalisch. Und wenn es dann noch so zurückhaltend ist, kann es nur begrüßt werden … o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o
• Sonic Dust feat. Hopeberry - My View (Original Mix) - Bonzai Progressive [BP10312021] – out 04.06.21: “Italian DJ and producer duo Gerry Albano and Fabrizio Cusumano aka Sonic Dust … alongside the wonderfully talented singer Hopeberry.  … The Original Mix sets a warm, inviting scene with lush grooves and enchanting vocals. Strong beats drive the track as thick basses bubble up from below. Cascading arps combine beautifully with the vocal which adds a richness to the sound, sublime stuff.” ###Progdorf meint: Auch hier waren wir unschlüssig. Treffen doch schöne Vocals auf nervtötendes Geklimper. Jetzt aber war die Zeit reif. Augen zu und durch.  
• The Unknown - Now Is A Dream - BluFin Records [BF328] – out 25.6.21: „---“ ###Progdorf meint: Sicherlich eines der Höhepunkte des Sets. Kraftvoll, abwechslungsreich, mitreissend. Großartig. Schade, daß sich das Label nicht zu einer „Release synopsis“ hinreissen kann. Egal.
